What is Voltage Divider?

Given voltage V_in as the input voltage; running V_in through resistors in series the output of the voltage between two resistor will drop by the radio of the resistors.

Let's see an example:

V_in = 9_V R₁ = 1000 Ω R₂ = 1000 Ω R_t= R₁ + R₂ => R_t = 2000 Ω Using the formula for voltage divider:

V_out	=	R	* V_in
		——————		——————
		R_t

We Get (lets take as example R₁)

V_out	=	1000 Ω	* 9_V
		——————		——————
		2000 Ω

This results in V_out = 4.5_V
